戦後復興期の香川に誇りを取り戻すべく文化事業を推進し、デザイン知事とも呼ばれた金子正則氏。彼が主導し、県を上げて著名な建築家や芸術家たちを招き、海外にも通用する美しいものづくりを追求したことにより、街の中には他県に勝るとも劣らないハイセンスなパブリックアートやインテリア、工芸品をアレンジしたプロダクトが生まれることとなりました。
今回は、香川で愛されてきたものを集めた「讃岐モダン」な空間で、ものづくりを支えた人や繋がりから生まれたコラボレーション、独特の商品開発ストーリーをご紹介いたします。

LOCAL DESIGN of KAGAWA Vol.3

Mr. Masanori Kaneko, also known as “Governor of Design,” promoted cultural projects to restore pride to Kagawa during the postwar reconstruction period.
Masanori Kaneko. Under his leadership, he invited prominent architects and artists from all over the prefecture to participate in this project, which was designed in pursuit of beautiful craftsmanship that could be accepted overseas.
The result is a city that is as beautiful as any other prefecture in Japan.
The result is that the city is now home to a wide range of sophisticated public art, interior design, and products arranged with craftsmanship that is second to none in the prefecture.
The city is now home to a variety of products that are as good as any in other prefectures.
This time, in a “Sanuki Modern” space that gathers together beloved Kagawa products, we will present a collaboration that was born from the people and connections that supported craftsmanship, as well as the products that were created in Kagawa.
The exhibition will introduce the story of collaboration and unique product development born from the people and connections that supported the manufacturing process.
